Ren Semenza holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics (1974) and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (1975) from the State University of New York, and is registered as a Professional Engineer in twenty-seven states throughout the U.S.

His academic qualifications are supplemented by practical field experience starting in 1975 as a Construction Manager & Sr. Electrical Inspector for the George A. Fuller Construction Company, Empire State Plaza Project, a multi-billion dollar New York State complex of legislative buildings, office towers, museum, library, performing arts center, health department laboratories, parking structures, retail spaces, and public plaza areas for community access & entertainment.

Ren has been in involved in the design and construction industry for 49 years on a wide range of projects involving educational and industrial research facilities, health care environments, medical diagnostic facilities, schools, churches, residential and hotel projects, airport & shipping facilities, and specialized projects such as aircraft apron lighting systems, runway lighting control systems, marine terminal designs, aircraft & marine fueling facilities, manufacturing, hazardous environments, clean rooms, biological hazard areas, and material recycling projects.

In addition to the design of electrical service, power distribution and lighting systems, he has extensive experience in the development and application of control systems for lighting, power and process controls.

Ren has an in-depth knowledge of electrical construction codes, and is a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI), prior member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and has an OSHA 10-Hr Construction Safety & Health Certification.

Since the 1990’s, Ren has provided assistance to the insurance and legal industry in the analysis of contract disputes, construction defects, personal injuries, electrical equipment failures and electrical fire initiation.

As a designer, engineer, project manager and consultant, Ren emphasizes observational and engineering analysis to develop creative and functional solutions in order to achieve professional results.
